1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, enabling, or using the Aisogen browser extension ("the Extension") — available for both Chrome and Firefox — you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to the accompanying Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy together make up the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Extension, and replace any prior discussions or understandings on the subject.

2. Description of the Service

Aisogen is a browser extension that (a) reads a caption or post text from the currently viewed web page, and (b) sends that text, together with your chosen tone, output type, and prompt instructions, to an AI provider you configure, in order to generate a suggested reply, comment, post, or summary for you to review and use as you see fit. The Extension does not post, publish, or submit anything on your behalf automatically — all generated text is placed in a box in the side panel (Chrome) or sidebar (Firefox) for you to copy and use manually. On websites other than the platforms built into the Extension, your browser (Chrome or Firefox) will ask you to separately approve site access the first time you use "Get Caption" there; see the Privacy Policy, Section 4 for details.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use the Extension. You must also be legally able to enter into these Terms, and old enough to use the social platforms and AI providers you connect the Extension to under their own respective terms.

4. Your Own API Keys ("Bring Your Own Key")

The Extension does not provide any AI service of its own. You must supply your own API key(s) for whichever AI provider(s) you wish to use. You are solely responsible for:

  • Obtaining those keys and complying with the applicable provider's terms of service, acceptable use policy, and pricing;
  • Any usage charges billed to you by that provider as a result of using the Extension;
  • Keeping your API keys confidential and secure on your own device (see Section 7 and the Privacy Policy, Section 3.1, regarding local, unencrypted storage).

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Extension to:

  • Violate the terms of service of any social media platform you use it on (e.g. automated or bulk posting, spam, engagement manipulation, or bot-like behavior beyond what the platform allows);
  • Violate the terms of service of any AI provider you connect;
  • Generate or post content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, or infringes on the rights of others;
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or circumvent any security or rate-limiting measures of a connected AI provider or social platform;
  • Misrepresent AI-generated content as being from a person where that would be deceptive, misleading, or unlawful in the context you're posting in.
  • Use content generated from another person's caption, post, or copyrighted material in a way that infringes that person's copyright or other intellectual property rights;
Some social media platforms restrict automated reading or extraction of page content in their Terms of Service. Using the Extension on a given platform may put your account on that platform at risk of rate-limiting, restriction, or suspension under that platform's own rules — this is between you and that platform, and is entirely outside our control. If you're unsure, check the current Terms of the platform you intend to use before enabling the Extension there. By using the Extension on any platform, you accept sole responsibility for that platform's consequences and agree that we bear no liability for any such action taken against your account.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Text generated through the Extension is produced by a third-party AI model you selected, not by us. It may be inaccurate, out of context, biased, offensive, or otherwise unsuitable. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use any generated content before posting it anywhere.

We make no representation that generated content will be accurate, appropriate, original, or free of errors, and we are not responsible for any consequence of you posting AI-generated text produced through the Extension.

7. Local Data, Log Files & Your Responsibility

As described in the Privacy Policy, all settings, API keys, and history are stored locally on your device and are not encrypted. How generated replies are logged differs by browser: in Chrome, they're written as CSV files to a folder you choose; in Firefox, they're stored directly in a local database, with CSV export available on demand. See the Privacy Policy, Section 3.4 for full details.

You are responsible for the physical and account-level security of the device(s) you use the Extension on. In Chrome, you are also responsible for the folder you choose for CSV logging (which may contain captions and generated replies over time) — uninstalling the Extension does not delete CSV log files already written to that folder, and you manage those files directly as you would any other file on your computer. In Firefox, uninstalling the Extension removes the local database and all logged entries within it, though any CSV files you've previously exported via "Save a Copy" are unaffected, since those are ordinary files in your Downloads folder.

8. Third-Party Services

Your use of any AI provider (OpenAI, Deepseek, Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter, Anthropic, Perplexity, HuggingFace, or a custom endpoint) through the Extension is governed by that provider's own terms of service, separate from these Terms. We are not a party to, and have no responsibility for, your agreement or dealings with any such provider, or with any social media platform you use the Extension alongside.

9. Intellectual Property

The Extension's own code, design, and branding are owned by Manu M. S. We claim no ownership over: (a) caption text read from pages you visit, which belongs to its original authors/platforms, or (b) text generated by an AI provider in response to your prompts, which is yours to use subject to that provider's own terms regarding output ownership.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any generated content you post, publish, or otherwise use — including content derived from another user's caption or post — does not infringe any third party's copyright or other intellectual property rights. We do not review, monitor, or verify generated content for infringement, and we are not liable for any copyright claim arising from your use or posting of it.

10. No Warranty

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every website (site-specific caption extraction may stop working if a platform changes its page layout or design).

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, API costs, business interruption, or account suspension, restriction, or loss of access on any third-party social media platform or AI provider, arising out of or related to your use of the Extension, including any content generated through it or any action taken by a connected AI provider or social platform.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer of the Extension from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Extension, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights (including a social platform's or AI provider's terms).

13. Termination

You may stop using the Extension at any time by disabling or uninstalling it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Extension (e.g. via its listing on the Chrome Web Store or Mozilla's addons.mozilla.org) at any time.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Extension after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
